May, June & September Schedules Proposed change – to change the 4pm departure from Cape Clear to a 5pm departure, returning from Baltimore at 6pm instead of 5.30 pm – seven days a week. Reason – Lots of feedback last year that the 4pm departure from Cape is too short for people coming on the 2pm sailing as it only leaves just over an hour on the Island. Previously this was 6pm departing Cape and 7pm Baltimore in June and September. These later times are far too late for day trippers coming on the morning sailing; this is regarded as the best time for day trippers coming on either the morning and afternoon. Friday late sailing – Departing Cape at 7pm and Baltimore at 8pm Reason – Some feedback that earlier sailing from Baltimore is not as good for people coming from Cork City after work especially during busy weekends with lots of traffic. Wednesdays 1 December to 30 April To have a 4pm and 5.30 pm sailing the first and third Wednesday of every month instead of the early Monday morning sailings during July and August and during other school holidays during the year. Reason – According to the rft there is only one sailing on a Wednesday during the above dates. There has been significant feedback on this from the Community, its very awkward for various reasons for some residents. It is proposed to provide these additional sailings in return for community consent not to operate the early morning sailings out of school time as there is extremely little and sometimes no demand at all for the service at these times.
