Cape Clear Ferry Service looks forward to the arrival of the new Tamar class lifeboat, Alan Massey which is scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on Wednesday 15 February next, weather permitting. This is a momentous event in the life of the local community in Baltimore and the Islands and a good turnout is expected to greet and view the new vessel. The ferry has been invited to meet the incoming lifeboat at the mouth of Baltimore Harbour at 2pm to accompany her to the Pier. For that reason the scheduled 2pm sailing from Baltimore will not take place and there will be one sailing only to the Island at 4pm. The ferry will carry onlookers and well-wishers on that trip and invites members of the Cape Clear Island Community to take part in the trip. It is planned to have the Dún Aengus present also if possible. Following the arrival of the Lifeboat in Baltimore time has also been allowed for those wishing to view it at close quarters. Should the arrival of the Lifeboat be postponed due to adverse weather the various arrangements for the day will be postponed until the actual arrival.
