Next Sunday 24 November will see the popular annual Christmas decorations get together taking place in the Club at 3pm. Following this at 4.30 pm there will be a showing of the recent program broadcast by French TV translated as 'Cape Clear, The Land of the O'Driscolls'. The production quality of this half hour program is outstanding and its worth watching for the imaginative, enormously appealing and interesting shots of the Island and the surrounding seas. The program features elements of the annual O'Driscoll Gathering and will no doubt be much looked forward to by the O'Driscoll Clan when they attend next years event. Coming up to Christmas the social calendar on the Island begins to fill up a little and readers are reminded that Sunday 1 December will see the annual afternoon social event featuring mulled wine, traditional music and a raffle commencing at 3pm in the Club. The following Saturday 7 December the annual Christmas Party takes place, also in the Club. Other upcoming events include the AGM of Comharchumann Chleire Teo at 8pm on Saturday 30 November in the Coláiste and this will be followed by cards in the Club, starting at 10 pm. Monday 2 December sees the annual Christmas shopping trip to Cork City, arranged by the Rural Transport Program, also open to participants form Sherkin and Baltimore. Details available from the Co op Office. We are alwayss very thankful for the many people who give a helping hand to arrange all these different events which require no small effort in such a small community.
