Sunday 15 December saw Pádraic Óg Ó Ruairc arrive with a large bundle of straw to host a workshop in Club Cléire on the making of traditional straw costumes for the Island's Wren Group. The event was very successful with a range of new head masks and straw skirts created, more than we have ever had before.  Following the workshop  at about 5.30 pm some of the local musicians accompanied by Padraic held a traditional session. On Sunday 22 December all those intending to participate in the both the Big Wren and the Little Wren ( ie. adult and children's Wren) are asked to be in the Club at 3pm for a practice. The Wren itself will kick off  t about 12 noon on St Stephens Day as usual. Pádraic himself hopes to join us for the Wren if weather conditions are suitable for the ferry on St Stephens Day.
