A Warm Congratulations to the Committee of Baltimore Leisure Centre

Cailín Óir extends warm congratulations to the committee of Baltimore Leisure Centre who have recently purchased the complex for the local community. The leisure centre, pool, gym and other facilities which formerly belonged to the Baltimore Beacon Hotel has been kept open by the Community Group for some years since the hotel went into receivership and now seems set to have a more secure future. These are a fantastic local asset, accessible to both locals and visitors alike including residents of Cape Clear Island. There will be ongoing fund raising efforts in the months and hopefully some event can be arranged on Cape Clear to contribute to this  worthwhile effort.
