A series of planed test wells were commenced this morning with a view to establishing new water sources for the proposed distillery on the Island. The drilling program was preceded by detailed Geological and resistivity studies and will be followed by recommended established well testing and water quality analysis in the preferred well site. Should more than sufficient water sources be identified, preliminary contacts with Irish Water indicate that these may be tapped for the public water supply on the Island. The photo shows from left Micheál Ó Ceadagáin, former Manager of Comharchumann Chléire Teo, Bruno Teillard of Aquageoservices and Seán Ó Drisceoil, also of Comharchumann Chléire Teo. The well drilling is being carried out by Aidan Brosnan of TJ Cross & Co and the resistivity studies were done by Minerex Geophysics Ltd. The promoters express their appreciation to all who have generously facilitated this process to date by allowing access for the various phases of the project and also in other ways. Ní neart go cur le céile.
