Sunday 22 March in beautiful sunny and calm conditions the new storm gates finally arrived at Cape Clear Island. Shortly after the departure of the 4pm ferry, Dún an Óir 11 from the Island the aptly named barge Fastnet Sound approached the harbor and inserted itself between the Bulls Nose and the Duffy's Pier for a lifting operation that went as smooth as the serene and calm Bay which look glorious in its full Spring magnificence.
