Declan Donhue who operates the BIM mobile training Unit hopes to run a 3 day basic training course  (sea survival, first aid at sea and fire fighting) in Union Hall in mid June depending on numbers. Participants can do one or all parts of the course which together with a medical fitness certificate are the basic qualifications required to work on fishing or passenger vessels. Anyone interested should contact Declan at 087-2334620 or donohue@bim.ie or alternatively contact Séamus who is trying to confirm numbers so that the course can definitely go ahead. Those who have done the courses previously are reminded that certificated should be updated every 5 years.
