Coming to work this morning caused me to reflect that perhaps, like other affairs, the best part of the Presidents visit are the preparations. As the photos show the Island is like a new pin, to veer towards the lyrical and poetical :-
If it can be swept, it has been swept,
If it can be painted, it has been painted.
If it can be strimmed, so it has,
If it needs staining, its been done too,
Where flowers are needed, they have appeared,
If it needs power washing, it has happened,
The residual litter has been disappeared,
Tunes, songs and dances have been practiced,
So have poems and speeches,
Sunday clothes prepared,
Surely the Cistin is busy,
Some potholes have been filled,
As always on such occasions,
And the flag flies, dissolutely,
Because its a glorious, blue sky and sunny day,
And Cape Clear Island, has risen,
To another festive occasion,
An done itself proud ,
AGAIN.
