Water Harvesting Meetings, Skibb and Bantry
Harrison Gardner of Earth Ship Biotecture, from New Mexico, Will Be In Skibbereen and Bantry next Tuesday, 30th June, to Discuss and explain rainwater harvesting systems and related matters of conservation and sustainability.
Skibbereen Meeting: 2.30 pm, Annie Mays Bar, Bridge St., opposite the Mart entrance.
Bantry Meeting: 7.00 pm, Organico, upstairs.
This is a rare chance to talk to someone from an internationally famous sustainable architecture/building project. All welcome, especially those who can never make evening meetings because of work or family commitments.
Meanwhile we have been contacted recently by the makers of the Mecon water savers which cost only €20, can be fitted to standard toilet cisterns and can save 60% of the water otherwise wasted. These devices have been installed trouble free in some premises for over 10 years and there are still some available via Séamus/Comharchumamnn as are the water buts.
