Readers of this blog will be interested to hear of another interesting publication by a true son of Cape Clear Island recently published. Denis J Burke, son of Dinny and Mary Burke of Cummar, Cape Clear has written, 88 ways to a Better Life, a self help book inspired in great part by his upbringing on the Island in the 1970’s. There is a poignant dedication to his parents and many of the insights imparted therein will be helpful to those needing a dash of self-confidence, direction and focus. A volunteer is worth 10 pressed men and work that is fun feels like it’s no work at all and with some creative thinking there may be untapped opportunities awaiting us all.
