Cape Clear Island did itself proud last Saturday, National Tree Planting Day with over 200 trees planted by an enthusiastic group of adults and children along the Mass Track. The ground had earlier been cleared by Oisín and soon enough was planted with the fresh young red tagged saplings. Special tree ties were provided so that the children could identify the individual trees planted by themselves and therefor be encouraged to come back and see how they are progressing. The mood, always light during tree planting was brighter than usual due to the fantastic weather and we know that some participants were so enthused that they continued tree planting elsewhere later in the day. Again and again, our Community rises to all sorts of challenges and a heartfelt go raibh míle maith agaibh to all who made this years planting a success. The photo shows some of those who took part in this years planting.
