Chleire Active Retirement Association had a very successful year in 2017. CARA have a registered membership of 27 people, who meet for lunch on a fortnightly basis and organise inter-generational events throughout the year. In 2017 young and not so young took part in many events such as Lá Chiarán, Bingo, Christmas Crafts, Christmas Raffle, Drama, Annual CARA Community Christmas Dinner etc etc.

CARA members had a most enjoyable outing to the West Cork hotel (that coincide with the shopping trip to Cork) and finished off by joining over 150 other Active Retirements Member’s from West Cork for Christmas Lunch and dancing!

CARA also bade a sad farewell to lifelong members, Chuck & Nell Kruger and hosted a special lunch for over 36 people and music with Orla Ni Cheallachain to wish them well in the new chapter of their lives.

CARA wold like to thank all members, individuals and businesses who have supported over the years! We are looking forward to another successful year in 2018 – the fortnightly lunches will continue and of course keep an eye out for other events that will be advertised in due course!
