Preparations continued apace for the second Cape Clear Island St Patrick’s Day Parade over the weekend with confirmation that this year’s Grand Marshal shall be Danny Stewart. On Sunday afternoon the Island’s musicians paraded from Club Cléire to Tir na Spraoi where mask making was in full swing. We show some of the colourful results of their efforts. A number of floats are underway, we show one such WIP, and costumes are being prepared for our own young dancers. This year also our St Patricks Day Parade promises to be possibly the smallest on the Globe but also again the most warm hearted event with music, contemporary dance, flags, passion and craic. The full program for Lá Le Pádraig is as follows:-

10 am – Community Mass

1pm-2.45pm – Parade from South to North harbour with various stops en route.

2.45 pm – 4.15 pm – Refreshments served in Club during Ireland- England Match.

4.15pm – Session with the local musicians.
