Enjoy Easter in Cape Clear 2018

As usual we though our readers might like some details on some of the events taking place on the Island over the Easter Holiday Period.

Church services in Seipéal Naomh Ciarán start at 8.00 pm, Holy Thursday, followed by the Way of the Cross at 2.30 pm on Good Friday , Easter Vigil Mass at 8.30 pm on Saturday and Easter Sunday Mass at 10am on Easter Sunday itself. As usual people are asked to help with readings the various other arrangements required for these services.

There will be a session in Club Cléire at 9.30 pm on Easter Saturday and on Easter Sunday, commencing at 12 noon, the famous Cape Clear Island Easter Egg Hunt and Cake Sale kicks off in the Harbour area, close to the Coop. This is a fabulous family fun event and we show a photo from last year. While the cake sale, starts at noon, the Easter Egg Hunt itself will not commence until after the 12.00 noon ferry docks.

On Wednesday 4th April we call on all available hands to join a meitheal at the Hostel to repair the second of the walls knocked by Storm Orelia. There is a cunning plan that hopefully can see the wall rebuilt in one day, if we can get enough willing hands. No experience, needed, gloves will be supplied, ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine. We show a photo of the target area plus a photo of the section of wall already rebuilt mostly over the Christmas period.
